The hottest pharmaceutical packaging industry in C

China's pharmaceutical packaging industry

there are more than 1500 pharmaceutical packaging material production enterprises in China, which can produce more than 50 varieties of pharmaceutical packaging materials in 6 categories, with an annual output value of about 15 billion yuan, which can meet more than 80% of the needs of domestic enterprises. In 1992, the State Pharmaceutical Administration implemented a license system for drug packaging material manufacturing enterprises, and after two license renewals and rectification in 1995 and 1997, at present, China's drug packaging has become more and more flat. The product structure of licensed enterprises is roughly as follows:

1, pharmaceutical glass; 417 (about 28%)

2. Plastic (aluminum) containers that cannot be opened: 278 (about 18%, including 33 medicinal spherical shells)

3. Sheet, film and foil (composite) materials, which are made of the same materials as automobile battery shell and Lego building blocks: 165 (about 11%), including 36 medical PVC hard sheets and 35 PTP aluminum foil

4. Gelatin hard capsules: 116 (about 8%), including 3 enteric coated capsules

5. 118 rubber plugs with high medicinal hardness (about 8%), including 11 butyl rubber plugs and 110 natural rubber plugs

6. Various covers: 185 (about 12%)

7. Others (ointment tube, desiccant, eye medicine bottle, etc.): about 200

these 1500 enterprises have fixed assets with an original value of about 12billion yuan, of which more than 90 are more than 10million yuan, and about 80% are less than 500000 yuan. The total number of employees is about 220000

most of the existing pharmaceutical packaging material production enterprises in China are township enterprises, which generally have problems such as small scale, poor personnel quality, low equipment and technology level, and poor product quality. In 1998, the China Pharmaceutical Packaging Association conducted a spot check on the quality of ampoules used for pharmaceutical glass tubes in some provinces and cities. The results showed that 30% of the products were unqualified, and the unqualified rate of individual items (glass tube wall thickness and ampoule wall thickness) reached 38%. The water resistance rate of the two products was poor, and the phenomenon of peeling was serious, leaving hidden dangers for safe drug use

on the other hand, compared with foreign advanced pharmaceutical companies, China's pharmaceutical enterprises generally have insufficient understanding of the importance of the relationship between packaging, packaging materials and drug quality, and the research on the interaction between drug packaging, packaging materials and drugs is generally insufficient, with insufficient attention. Inferior packaging materials are often used to reduce costs. For example, natural rubber plugs are no longer used in most countries. Developed countries banned the use of butyl rubber plugs in the 1960s and switched to butyl rubber plugs. However, at present, only about 20% of butyl rubber plugs are used in China

the implementation of the new drug packaging regulations will help to improve the technical level and innovation ability of China's drug packaging materials and container manufacturers, at the same time, improve the attention of China's drug users to drug packaging, and eliminate the harm of drugs caused by poor packaging to human body
